As we have handed in our music video's, Mr Andrews was showing them on the screen to the class and as soon as mine was finished I realised how happy I am with the final result.
I think I have used my time well and have been very organised this term with this production/film.
I have worked very well in class and out of class filming with my group and I am very happy as watching It I can see how far I have come editing wise and using my time management better.

Self-reflection/evaluation:
Media Arts: Music Video Production – Term 04
Self-reflection/evaluation:
Respond to each of the following dot points (using complete sentences or paragraphs). You should include as much detail as possible in your responses.
Teamwork during Pre-Production:
- Describe any problems or difficulties your group encountered while developing your music video concept and deciding upon music;
There was a few problems in making the idea for the video concept and the song choice. At first we had all different songs in mind that were all completely different! One song was slow, one was fast and one we couldn't even understand what was going on. We discussed one song which both Sascha and Holly liked but I really wasn't liking it as I thought we should have a song that has a good build up and could be really dramatic to go along with the idea we had already decided firstly which was pretty easy to agree on as we all liked it.
- Explain whether your group effectively used the pre-production and planning templates prior to filming;
The group used the pre production and planning templates effectively prior to filming. It helped a lot for all of us to understand what was going to be happening.
- Describe whether your group made effective use of their time in class during pre-production. (Did each group member; contribute; have set tasks at all times; know their role in the group etc.)
Each member of the group used their time well during pre production. We were all so excited for the music video that we wanted to start straight away, so time management before production wasn't an issue as we all assigned jobs and positions to each other in order to start the project quicker and start as soon as possible.
- List some steps your group could (or did) implement to improve in this area;
The steps were, assigning positions, making time slots, keeping focused and not messing around and wasting valuable time.
Teamwork during Production and Post-Production:
- Discuss how your group used storyboards, shot-lists and a shooting schedule to assist during the filming making process;
The group was very good with using storyboards, the shooting schedule and the shot lists as we can all agree those things made the timing process a lot easier as it made us more understanding to what we were filming and put a clearer picture in our heads.
- Did your group experience any organisational issues during filming, (i.e. members who were absent or did not contribute; finding suitable times to film; forgetting shot-lists, costumes; not booking equipment etc.) How did you manage or work around these difficulties?
There was actually a lot of problems with organisation. One of the members in the group, her mum didn't want to drop her at the location as it was an inconvenience for her and also in Brisbane where we were shooting she had to leave earlier then planned which was difficult for the rest of us but we solved it easier. We worked around this by getting someone else to film and act.
- Describe any problems or difficulties you encountered during post-production and editing. These may include; technical difficulties, corrupt or missing files, group related issues. etc;
We did not have any technical difficulties, corrupt or missing files, group related issues. Everything went according to plan before production.
- Did your group complete all shots as detailed in your planning?
There was a few shots that didn't get completed as one person in the group didn't like some so we cut them out but other then that all shots got completed in the same amount of detail as the planning.
Discuss your individual feelings about the Music Video Task:
- Are you group satisfied with the final result?
I am extremely satisfied with the final result. Since day one I knew my music video was going to be different from the other members of my group. I knew I wanted it to build up and start slow and then towards the end I cut out the music that was slow and then put the loud faster music in so I could make it fast and quick. I am very happy with how it turned out.
- Would like to change any aspects of your music video or its original concept?
I wouldn't change anything about my music video, I am proud of it as it looks like how I pictured in my mind and since all of the group contributed to the original concept of what it was about I wouldn't change anything.
- If you could start the project again what would you do differently?
I would probably have shot more individual scenes so that way at the end when there is quick shots there would be more to show quickly to show its over a longer time period, I would also get more shots of close ups to show more emotions from each of the characters so it is more relatable and entertaining to those watching.
- Was it easier planning, filming and managing your time during this project than your first film? Why?
This was probably my favourite project then all my other films as the idea is relatable to a lot of people and speaks to more people of this age. The time management was exretemly good as we all knew what we wanted to achieve. Filming was better then the last film as the last film I didn't get any say of how I wanted it to be filmed and this film I actually said what I wanted and got good results, also in planning my voice was heard and my idea’s unlike my last film.
- Did your treatment accurately reflect your video or were the substantial differences between the concept and final product?
The treatment accurately reflected the video, I do not believe there is any differences between the concept and the final product because we all had a picture of what we thought it would look like and then editing we edited the same as we wrote it out like.

Media parts.
Holly : Her part for the film is that she is in love and then finds out her boyfriend has been cheating and becomes depressed and can't trust anyone ever again.
Claire : My part is that I am a typical girl from school that is getting bullied.
Sascha : Her part is that she is getting abused by her father.
Sascha : Her part is that she is getting abused by her father.
Lesson
Last lesson in media, we had to film the last scene of our entire film. In order to do this we had to get girls from our class to act as ‘’bullies’’. They did a good job but we had trouble with location as the lockers we have are to small so we had to find a different location. It was a success as we portrayed the idea of mental and physical abuse. I have nearly finished editing but I still need to show mr andrews my rough copy as soon as I import the videos onto my laptop and then put it together for my scenes in the flashbacks.
